About our Staff Team

The day-to-day running of for dementia training service is undertaken by the staff team based in our central London offices.

Christine Gillham

BA (Hons), PGCE

Learning Partnership Manager

Christine joined for dementia training in 2000.  Her previous position within the organisation was Project Coordinator, working on developing the Certificate Programme in Dementia Care with the DSDC Network and partner organisations.  Christine is a qualified teacher.  She is also a Dementia Care Mapper.

 

Emma Hewat

BA (Hons), LLB (Hons)

Learning Partnership Manager

Emma joined for dementia in 2004 and was project co-ordinator for the 6 month accredited certificate programme ‘Working with People with Dementia and their Carers’ for three years.

She trained as a Dementia Care Mapper (Basic User Status) in 2006 and has worked in partnership with the London Borough of Camden, the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and North East London Mental Health Trust (Nelmt) to evaluate and improve the experience of service users through the use of DCM.

Emma became a Learning Partnerships Manager in 2008 and is currently working with Local Authorities, NHS trusts and Social Services to evaluate their training needs and provide bespoke learning solutions that are flexible and sustainable.

Emma provides administrative support to the Higher Education for Dementia Network (HEDN), an open forum representing staff in Higher Education, who are involved in, or have an interest in, the delivery of programmes incorporating Dementia Care.

Emma is also involved in the delivery of training including the Mental Capacity Act.

 

Donna Farrell

CIPD Certificate in Training Practice

Training & Learning Partnerships Co -ordinator

Donna works with the freelance team of trainers at for dementia, to devise a comprehensive programme of open courses, focused on meeting the training needs of health and social care staff, working with older people and people with dementia.   

She is responsible for all administrative functions related to the organisation and delivery of open courses and training commissioned by learning partners and assist with the promotion and marketing of the work of for dementia training.

Donna is a strong team player, leads by example, inspiring others towards shared goals.  She is driven by a personal passion for excellence and professional loyalty, practising the ideals of quality through vision.

Donna comes to for dementia with over 30 years experience within the administration field gained with a local authority and is a qualified trainer who has worked in a variety of charitable and voluntary agencies, and has also carried out training for Islington Social Services.

Donna is now the course convenor for the 6 month accredited certificate programme ‘Working with People with Dementia and their Carers’.

Donna is also a Qualified NQV Assessor [AI] and Trainer.

 

Magda Swiecicka

Training Administrator

Magda joined for dementia at the beginning of the year and works as a Training Administrator to maintain administrative systems and provide support for the training department.

Magda is the first point of contact for the training department, taking enquiries and liaising with customers and trainers. She assists in and co-ordinates the arrangements for commissioned training courses paperwork and provides administrative support for the ‘Working with People with dementia and their Carers’ Open Certificate Programme. Magda also assists in the promotion of for dementia training services.

Magda has over two years experience working in an office environment including training organisation.

 

Erhire Okpomo

Training Administrator

Erhire recently joined for dementia as a training administrator and is responsible for the Marketing of the Programme of Open Courses which takes place at for dementia's central London offices, as well as assisting with in-house training. She also supports the work of the Learning Partnership Managers. Erhire has worked for the NHS for a number of years, and has most recently fundraised for charities including Oxfam, the British Heart Foundation and the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
